Quality Staff Technician, FAI Team (Onsite)
Collins Aerospace in Simpsonville, SC is seeking a Quality Technician to support our First Article Inspection (FAI) team within a manufacturing environment producing high-reliability aerospace components. In this role, you will play a critical hands-on role ensuring products meet customer, regulatory, and contractual requirements from first piece through final inspection.

Responsibilities
Perform first piece, in-process, and final inspections per job instructions, drawings, and inspection plans
Execute incoming and final inspection activities to ensure product compliance
Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) and Delta FAIs in accordance with AS9102 requirements
Balloon engineering drawings and verify dimensional and specification compliance for FAI packages
Review completed FAI documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and customer compliance
Serve as a subject matter expert for FAI processes and requirements
Lead and support inspection activities related to FAI execution and completion
Communicate FAI status and issues across Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, and leadership
Interface with customers as needed to review or explain FAI documentation and findings
Demonstrate proper use, care, and calibration awareness of inspection tools and gages
Accurately document inspection results and complete required quality records and stamps
Maintain and improve 5S standards within assigned work areas
Adhere to company Quality Policy, EH&S requirements, and applicable procedures
Qualification
Required
Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
Experience performing inspections in a manufacturing or quality environment
Prior experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and inspection documentation
Experience using inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, optical comparators, and related equipment
Working knowledge of First Article Inspection processes and AS9102 requirements
Preferred
Experience with WHMA and IPC specifications
Ability to interpret GD&T
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
Experience raising basic quality or inspection reports
Understanding of CORE tools
Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) or similar certification
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
Ability to communicate effectively with multiple levels of the organization
