Senior Analyst: US Public Finance - Housing

Responsibilities
Act as the primary analyst for housing credits of varying size and complexity, demonstrating expertise in public finance housing sector analysis
Prepare comprehensive analyses for internal rating committee presentations and external publication, showcasing strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Oversee annual surveillance activities for your assigned portfolio of credits, ensuring quality standards and timely delivery
Actively participate in rating committees as a contributing team member, providing well-reasoned analytical perspectives
Write rating summaries and analytical reports that synthesize complex analysis into clear, well-supported conclusions demonstrating mastery of S&P methodologies and financial markets understanding
Communicate rating results and analysis effectively to diverse stakeholders including clients, financial intermediaries, investors, and media, while publishing timely industry commentaries and thought leadership pieces
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree required (Master's degree in business, public policy, public administration, or related field preferred)
An S&P Global employee at this level would typically have 2+ years of extensive experience related to Public Finance, with Public Finance Housing sector
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to work effectively under general guidance while exercising decision-making authority
Excellent verbal communication and writing skills, with ability to integrate and communicate complex information within the public finance specialization
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment while thriving in independent work situations
Strong time management and organizational skills with consistent ability to deliver high-quality work and meet deadlines
All employees are required to work from the office a minimum of 2 days per week
We require all candidates who reach the final stage of our interview process to attend at least one in-person interview, which is ordinarily at your nearest S&P Global Ratings office. This must be completed before we can proceed to an offer
Preferred
Experience advising on complex public finance housing issues and providing analytical perspectives to senior staff
Proven ability to build relationships with peers outside of immediate team and function
Demonstrated initiative in identifying and addressing problems or suggesting process improvements within public finance operations
