Responsibilities
Technical Ownership: Rapidly gain mastery of the existing tech stack, including genomic data pipelines and optimisation modules
Codebase Validation: Ensure system robustness, scalability, documentation, and reproducibility for acquirer review
Strategic Positioning: Collaborate with the CEO to align the technology narrative with acquirer needs, particularly around cloud and compute architecture transitions
Exit Support: Contribute to technical negotiation strategy and facilitate smooth IP and infrastructure transfer
Qualification
Required
8+ years in technical leadership within genomics, bioinformatics, or computational biology software
Deep understanding of secondary analysis, including BCL/FASTQ, variant calling, and optimised pipelines
Proficiency in C/C++, Python, and experience with GPU acceleration
Experience working with Illumina workflows or similar sequencing technologies
Exposure to technical due diligence and M&A processes in startup or scale-up environments
Based in the United States (New York preferred)
Preferred
Familiarity with DRAGEN, GATK, and cloud-native bioinformatics (AWS/GCP)
Experience in HPC, data compression, or real-time genomics workflows
Knowledge of FDA-regulated software or ISO-compliant health data systems
