Responsibilities
Supporting safety culture and driving a safe to start mindset
Operating special purpose equipment, conventional (lathe and/or mill)
Reading and interpreting blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations and setup requirements
Starting and observing machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjusts machine controls as required
Selecting, aligning, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and shapers
Reading and interpreting documents such as OEM drawings, REI’s, Work Instructions, and Digital Routers
Working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD & T). Ability to apply basic concepts of algebra and geometry
Qualification
Required
Have High School Diploma or equivalent and 3+ years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Have ability to operate Manual machines
Experience on 3 and 4 jaw chucks
Supporting Machine shop based on customer needs
Preferred
Demonstrate advanced / expert skill level in conventional (manual) lathes and/or mill
Worked with exotic metals
Able to tap and drill
Hold tolerance .001-.003
Able to compound angles
GD&T
Able to chase lead threads
Understand Machine Shop math
Able to perform own set-ups
Communicate complex technical information clearly to support decision-making
