KPMG is a leading firm in the Advisory practice, currently experiencing significant growth and looking for an Advisory Associate for their Accounting Advisory Services in Deal Advisory & Strategy. The role involves working with client-facing engagement teams on various deal advisory projects and utilizing data and analytics tools to develop client solutions.

Responsibilities

Work as a part of deal advisory client facing engagement teams (carve-outs, mergers & acquisitions, restatements, technical accounting support) using data and analytics tools to develop client solutions utilizing a range of technologies and data analysis tools such as Excel, Alteryx, SQL, Python, Microsoft Fabric, Power BI; assist in the preparation of the related documentation
Utilize KPMG software such as KPMG Aggregation and Reporting Tool (KART), Kinergy and Harmony to assist with extracting and transforming client balance sheet, income statement and journal entry data in support of deal advisory engagements
Identify and communicate findings and recommendations to engagement team members
With appropriate guidance, utilize technology, systems, tools and innovations in support of engagement activities
Learn new and emerging technologies and explore opportunities to use intelligent automation

Required

Must be pursuing and have obtained by the start date or have completed the following degrees/majors in the past 12 months; Bachelors or Master's degree in accounting with a minor in management information systems, accounting information systems, computer science, IT, statistics, mathematics, engineering, or equivalent program, OR Bachelor or Master's degree in management information systems, accounting information systems, computer science, IT, statistics, mathematics, engineering, or equivalent program with a minor in accounting
Must have a current/most recent GPA at or above 3.00
Coursework or able to demonstrate understanding of basic accounting principles and SQL, Alteryx, PowerBI, Microsoft Fabric, Python, or R
Strong technical aptitude and critical thinking skills, demonstrated quality service mindset and ability to navigate MS Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook
Excellent communication, time management and leadership skills; flexible and adaptable team player; and resourceful in delivering high quality work
Must reside within a commutable distance of the office for this position and be responsible for your own transportation, such as personal vehicle or public transportation, to get to and from office / client locations to satisfactorily fulfill your job duties, as determined by your practice leadership
Work location may be in the office, at client sites, or virtual/remote. You must be located within the U.S. when working remotely. Client site locations may require travel and overnight/extended stay
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future.
