This role will serve as the technical team lead, providing architectural guidance, hands-on implementation support, and strategic recommendations to modernize and optimize a customized Splunk ES deployment.

Responsibilities
Act as the Splunk ES Subject Matter Expert and technical lead for the engagement
Support the customer’s upgrade and migration to Splunk 8.x, ensuring a smooth and secure transition
Analyze, rationalize, and simplify an environment with 700+ custom Splunk applications
Lead efforts to optimize Splunk ES architecture, configurations, and integrations
Provide guidance on best practices for Splunk ES use cases, data models, correlation searches, and dashboards
Troubleshoot complex Splunk ES performance, data ingestion, and security issues
Collaborate with stakeholders to align Splunk ES capabilities with security monitoring and operational needs
Mentor and guide team members, ensuring consistent implementation standards and knowledge sharing
Document architecture decisions, implementation steps, and operational procedures
Qualification
Required
Splunk ES Implementation Accreditation (required)
Proven experience serving as a Splunk ES Subject Matter Expert
Hands-on experience upgrading and supporting Splunk Enterprise Security environments, preferably to version 8.x
Strong experience managing and simplifying highly customized Splunk environments
Ability to lead technical teams and act as the primary point of contact for Splunk ES-related efforts
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills
Preferred
Experience supporting Federal Civilian (FED CIV) customers
Prior experience leading large-scale Splunk modernization or optimization efforts
Familiarity with Splunk performance tuning, scaling, and security best practices
Experience working in long-term government contracts and mission-critical environments
