Responsibilities
Review customer part requirements and develop machining processes, including fixturing, cutting tools, and grinding wheel selection for standard and turnkey projects
Perform machine demonstrations, feasibility studies, time studies, and sample part processing in support of sales efforts
Conduct process acceptance, installation support, and customer training both in-house and at customer sites
Provide applications support during trade shows, open houses, and customer events
Assist with prototype machine testing, including PLC functionality and mechanical/control software options
Provide technical phone support for customers, sales teams, and distributors
Participate in training seminars and courses to remain current with CNC and machine tool technologies
Qualification
Required
Associate's degree in Engineering or technical certification preferred; equivalent hands-on experience considered
5–7 years of CNC machine tool experience with a focus on grinding and turning applications
Prior experience in a customer-facing or applications support role preferred
Working knowledge of Siemens, Fanuc, and Mitsubishi CNC controls
Experience with G-code and conversational programming
CAD/CAM CNC programming experience
Proficiency in SolidWorks and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Preferred
Prior experience in a customer-facing or applications support role preferred
Experience with JD Edwards or similar ERP systems is a plus
