Responsibilities

Interface with clients and meetings

Prepare legal documents such as motions, pleadings, memorandums, and correspondence for criminal cases

Manage all stages of a criminal case, from investigation through trial and sentencing

Demonstrate significant court experience in handling legal proceedings

Stay educated by participating in local, state, and national legal conferences

Effectively manage and meet case deadlines to ensure successful outcomes

Analyze, collaborate, and implement trial strategies to achieve client objectives

Required

Experienced in all aspects of criminal law, including adult and juvenile cases, felony and misdemeanor charges, and pre-charge negotiation

Skilled in bond, risk assessment, mitigation, case strategy, motion practice, thorough discovery, trial proceedings, and sentencing advocacy

Required to attend Court appearances in Michigan

Admission to the Michigan State Bar is a must

Must be tech-friendly or willing to learn new technologies

Effective and clear communication skills are essential

Ability to track and meet minimum billable requirements

Excellent and creative writing skills are necessary

Strong belief in the Constitution and a commitment to advocating for clients daily
