Responsibilities
Develop protocols for the in vitro production of embryos in mice, livestock, and a variety of novel, wildlife species
Production of embryos with edited genomes using a advanced ART including zygote microinjection, production of chimeras with ESC injection, and SCNT
Derivation of embryonic stem cells, including development and optimization of protocols, from IVF, SCNT, and interspecies SCNT embryos
Collaborate with species and cell engineering teams to develop strategies for efficient production of embryos and offspring with desired gene alterations
Stay up to date on relevant literature, identify novel protocols/procedures that may be applicable for Colossal projects, and conduct associated experiments to continuously improve results
Maintain stable embryo development rates and troubleshoot protocols as needed
Some traveling required for training and implementing novel assisted reproductive technologies into non-model organisms
