Human Resources Manager
LHH is a recruitment solutions company seeking a motivated Human Resources Manager to join their team. This role involves overseeing all HR operations, managing employee relations, compliance, and recruitment processes, while also shaping HR strategy and culture initiatives within the organization.
Responsibilities
Serve as the primary HR partner for employees and leadership, providing guidance across all HR‑related matters
Manage employee relations concerns with professionalism, confidentiality, and sound judgment
Lead investigations, coach managers, and support performance improvement efforts
Oversee day‑to‑day HR operations, maintaining smooth, efficient processes
Ensure alignment with all Illinois employment laws, regulations, and reporting requirements
Maintain and update internal HR policies and practices
Administer benefits programs, FMLA, ADA accommodations, and leave management
Manage the full recruitment cycle, from sourcing and screening to extending offers
Partner with hiring leaders to ensure a consistent, positive, and structured hiring experience
Support workforce planning and staffing strategy
Own the complete onboarding process — setting new hires up for success from acceptance through their early months
Coordinate orientation schedules, training plans, policy education, and workspace readiness
Manage the offboarding process, ensuring an organized, respectful transition for departing employees
Conduct exit interviews and share trend insights that support retention and culture enhancement
Act as a culture champion and trusted resource for employees
Support leadership in engagement initiatives, communication strategies, and learning opportunities
Promote a collaborative, supportive, and inclusive workplace
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field
Minimum of 5 years of Human Resources experience, ideally with prior experience managing the HR function independently
Strong working knowledge of Illinois employment law, HR compliance, and regulatory requirements
Experience in employee relations, benefits administration, and end‑to‑end recruitment
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust at all levels
Highly organized, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities
Proficiency with HR systems and common business applications
Professional, mature, confidential, and employee‑centric approach
Exhibits empathy, integrity, collaboration, and a genuine passion for supporting people
Preferred
Background in a law firm or professional services environment is a plus
