Responsibilities
Develop accurate designs complying with recognized drafting standards, company practices, policies and procedures
Prepare and oversee electrical power system design including single-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, schematics and wiring diagrams
Develop plans, elevations and sections of various electrical systems, inclusive of below ground and above ground designs
Perform conduit and cable sizing calculations, ground grid layouts, and details
Create bill of materials (BOMs) for all components associated with the various electrical system designs
Ability to prepare as-built drawings from red-line copies
Assist with complete design checks to assure applicable codes, standards, design/drafting standards, and technical accuracy have been incorporated
Ability to interface successfully with the customer to provide technical support and integrate designs as required
Exercise independent judgment to develop designs with minimal direction and may concurrently support multiple projects

Qualification
Required
Five to seven (5-7) years of experience in the design of electrical systems
Previous drafting or design experience in the power industry (distribution systems and/or substations)
Experience with cable tray/conduit layouts, lighting design and grounding
Ability to perform calculations to document design decisions
Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office software
Ability to understand and verify applicable electrical design criteria
Familiar with construction industry standards
Must have working technical knowledge of other discipline interfaces
You must be a US Citizen
You will be required to obtain Military Base Access Security Clearance
Valid driver's license is required
Preferred
Associate degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology or related field
