Responsibilities
Design, program, and improve PLC systems (Allen-Bradley + Siemens)
Write, modify, and maintain ladder logic and control code for safe, reliable operations
Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and control system issues (24V–480V)
Lead and mentor a team of 3–5 technicians, providing technical direction on automation and troubleshooting
Partner with production and engineering to improve equipment performance and reduce downtime
Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, reliability, and automation upgrades
Document controls procedures, safety standards, and preventive maintenance steps
Oversee the installation, repair, maintenance and operation of automated machinery and equipment
Develop and implement procedures to manage maintenance inventories
Work with site leadership planning, coordinating and prioritizing maintenance needs with production requirements
Work a primarily daytime schedule with flexibility for plant needs in a 24/7 environment
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Engineering required
3–5+ years of experience in controls engineering or PLC programming
Strong experience with Allen-Bradley; Siemens exposure a plus
Ability to write, modify, and troubleshoot ladder logic and control code
Solid understanding of industrial electrical systems (up to 480V)
Strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on mindset
Ability to lead, mentor, and collaborate with cross-functional teams
Preferred
Previous management experience is a plus
Experience in a manufacturing or 24/7 production environment preferred
Drive, initiative, and interest in growing into broader regional engineering leadership over time
