Responsibilities
Monitor permit application workflows and track progress through all review and approval stages
Enter and update initial permit information in the permit tracking software accurately and in a timely manner
Coordinate and expedite information and approvals among internal departments (e.g., Planning, Engineering, Fire, Health) and external reviewing agencies
Act as liaison between applicants, contractors, internal reviewers, and external agencies to ensure clear communication and resolution of issues
Respond to public and applicant inquiries in person, by phone, or electronically, providing accurate information and guidance on permit requirements and procedures
Assist with general clerical duties as needed, including copying, faxing, filing, scanning, and mail distribution
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a comparable position
Valid driver's license
ICC Permit Technician certification (must obtain within two (2) years of hire)
Preferred
Vocational training
Relevant coursework in building construction, governmental codes, or database management
