Responsibilities

Leads a designated Quality Control team to manage all aspects of quality control while ensuring compliance with internal and FAA Regulations
Participates in the coordination and support of Material Review Board activities and results
Cross-functional engagement with program management to understand and execute manufacturing/program priorities
Collaborate with Quality Engineering to ensure all requirements are communicated to and executed by the quality control team
Foster a culture of collaboration with manufacturing to optimize processes, enhance efficiency, and reduce costs without compromising quality
Advise teams on design/change review activities, including inspectability, consistency, adequacy, accuracy, and conformance to requirements, and provide recommendations for improvement
Manage data and metrics using data visualization tools to report inspection performance and quality levels
Participate in product quality and quality management system reviews to assure compliance with drawings, work instructions, and internal ISO9001/AS9100 and regulatory requirements
Support product and process failure investigation to ensure effective root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions internally
Assist with the development and continual improvement activities to enhance the Joby quality control and management system
Supports the strategic planning and execution of long-term sustainable goals and objectives as determined by the Senior Manager of Quality Control
Responsible for performing job duties in a manner consistent with established Joby Policies and Procedures

Qualification

Required

Bachelor's degree in engineering, technology, or related field
Minimum 6 years' experience in Quality Management, Leadership, or Quality Program Management role supporting a manufacturing environment
Understanding of mechanical systems and inspection processes, including in-process inspection and dimensional inspection
Fundamental understanding of quality philosophies, principles, systems, methods, and tools
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including writing skills
Experience in the aviation industry

Preferred

Knowledge of FAA regulatory requirements
Understanding of ISO9001, AS9100 or TS16949 Quality Management System
Knowledge of AS9102 first article inspection process
Six Sigma Lean Manufacturing and Green Belt certification
