Responsibilities
The Associate Manager, Configuration Management will be responsible for the daily activities of a team of configuration and data management specialists
Successful candidate will act as the technical interface to the customer for all configuration and data management activities across the site
Contributing to the achievement of departmental goals and operating plans with direct impact on the departmental results
Manages experienced professionals and represents the Configuration/Data management function for the site
Manages cost, quality, and schedule for all programs within span of control
Trains and mentors team members
Communicates within and outside of the organization to influence leadership to accept new practices, approaches, and concepts
Develop or champions new concepts or technologies
Manages the implementation of functional strategies and recommends operational plans that directly impact the short-to-mid-term function or business area results
Provide direction, guidance and mentoring to direct reports on requirements and job responsibilities
In-depth knowledge of the types of configuration control and data management skillsets
Manages complex projects or processes with general oversight
Communicates within and outside of own function to gain cooperation on operational processes, practices, and procedures
Make moderate to substantial improvements to systems and processes
Familiarity with staff workload forecasting
Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office programs)
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
Developing, monitoring, analyzing, and implementing change based on team operational metrics
Support for business development includes estimating as well as writing of subcontractor specs and statements of work, RFI/RFP responses and proposals
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree with six (6) years of prior configuration and data management and/or related engineering discipline experience
Graduate Degree with four (4) years of prior configuration and data management and/or related engineering discipline experience
In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior configuration and data management and/or related engineering discipline experience
In-depth knowledge of the types of configuration control and data management skillsets
Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office programs)
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
Experience managing experienced professionals and representing the Configuration/Data management function for the site
Experience managing cost, quality, and schedule for all programs within span of control
Experience training and mentoring team members
Experience communicating within and outside of the organization to influence leadership to accept new practices, approaches, and concepts
Experience developing, monitoring, analyzing, and implementing change based on team operational metrics
Experience supporting business development including estimating as well as writing of subcontractor specs and statements of work, RFI/RFP responses and proposals
