Responsibilities
Serve as a key leader within the accounting function, helping to build strong processes, controls, and team capability
Manage and mentor a small corporate accounting team, providing day-to-day guidance, prioritization, and performance support
Partner closely with the Controller to lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
Prepare, review, and approve journal entries (JEs) to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting policies
Prepare and review account reconciliations, workpapers, and close support files to ensure completeness and audit readiness
Help maintain and improve internal controls and accounting procedures
Support financial statement preparation and ensure underlying data is accurate and well-documented
Assist with year-end audit requests and serve as a key point of contact for auditors as needed
Identify opportunities to streamline close processes and improve efficiency through better workflows and documentation
Qualification
Required
4–6 years of progressive accounting experience, including experience in public accounting
Strong technical accounting foundation and understanding of U.S. GAAP
Experience participating in and supporting a structured month-end close process
Prior experience reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting documentation
Demonstrated ability to manage or mentor others, even in an informal or small-team setting
Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational and follow-through skills
Comfortable working cross-functionally and communicating with both finance and non-finance stakeholders
Proactive mindset with a desire to improve processes, not just maintain them
Possess excellent attention to detail and ability to multi-task, while working independently
Able to communicate in a clear, concise and professional manner, both orally and in writing
Excellent mathematical, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Effective organizational, stress, and time management skills
Demonstrates a sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines
Resourceful and eager to help customers and colleagues as efficiently and effectively as possible
Understanding of GAAP
Ability to work within accounting software and systems
Preferred
CPA strongly preferred
Experience with NetSuite is a plus
Experience with foreign subsidiaries is a plus
