Senior Business Analyst (Data Analytics & P&C Insurance)
PremiumIQ is a specialized consulting firm dedicated to delivering data and analytics solutions to clients in the Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance industry. The Senior Business Analyst will engage with stakeholders to gather requirements, ensure data governance, manage product backlogs, and oversee the full data product lifecycle while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities
Gather and prioritize requirements from actuaries, underwriters, claims adjusters, and compliance teams
Translate business needs into user stories and technical requirements for data engineers and scientists
Ensure the data product complies with data governance policies, regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA), and industry standards
Define quality metrics (accuracy, timeliness, completeness) and ensure ongoing monitoring
Own the data product backlog; prioritize features and enhancements based on business value and feasibility
Manage delivery timelines in collaboration with data engineers, modelers, and visualization developers
Oversee the full lifecycle: design, build, test, release, and retire data products
Monitor adoption and user satisfaction; adjust based on feedback and KPIs (e.g., improved quote-to-bind ratio, loss forecasting accuracy)
Work with actuarial teams on pricing and risk models
Work with claims for fraud detection and severity modeling
Work with IT/Data Engineers on architecture, pipelines, and storage
Work with compliance for data privacy and retention
Qualification
Required
5+ years of property & Casualty domain experience (P&C, life, health, etc.) is required
10+ years of experience with data analytics projects as a business analyst and/or developer of data pipelines or dashboards is required
Professional Services experience is required, ideally with a smaller data & analytics niche firm
Experience with Agile product management (Scrum, Kanban)
Excellent stakeholder management skills
5+ years of experience in leadership roles
Excellent communication skills
Degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or equivalent experience
Candidates must be authorized to work for any employer without requirement of visa transfer/sponsorship now or in the future
Preferred
Candidates can reside anywhere in the U.S. (Midwest or east coast highly preferred) and work remotely; however, must be flexible to travel up to 50% to the client location
