In this role, you will focus on ensuring the highest gameplay quality by identifying, analyzing, and verifying issues related to mechanics, combat systems, progression, AI, UI, interactions, and overall player experience.

Responsibilities
Planning and execution of complex test strategies and test plans for large-scale gameplay systems and features
Collaborate with developers and designers during feature development, providing early input on potential quality risks and proposing mitigation strategies
Analyze and identify gaps in test coverage, proactively improving test effectiveness across gameplay systems
Conduct comprehensive testing of core gameplay features such as combat, AI, player progression, UI/UX, and player feedback systems
Develop and maintain detailed test cases and checklists related to gameplay mechanics, player interactions, system integration, and progression logic
Monitor ongoing game development and assess the impact of changes, offering guidance to QA teams to ensure continued coverage and consistency
Review and refine test documentation created by QA team members and specialists to maintain project standards
Provide comprehensive gameplay feedback including mechanics feel, usability, UI behavior, balance, pacing, and overall game flow, ensuring alignment with the game’s design vision
Serve as a bridge between QA and development teams, ensuring that quality goals are clearly communicated and met across departments
Prepare detailed reports and actionable insights on test outcomes, presenting key findings to senior management and stakeholders
Mentor and support junior QA Analysts and Specialists, promoting knowledge sharing and adherence to QA best practices
Participate in cross-functional meetings to influence project decision-making and align QA objectives with broader production goals
Qualification
Required
5+ years of experience working in a gameplay QA or similar role, with at least 1-2 years in a senior or leadership capacity
Proven experience in creating and executing test plans and strategies for complex gameplay systems
Demonstrated ability to identify and mitigate quality risks during all stages of development
Experience documenting test processes and bugs using tools like JIRA, TestRail, or equivalent
Deep understanding of video games and their gameplay systems (combat, AI, progression, player feedback, UI/UX, etc.)
Strong ability to analyze gameplay experiences and provide meaningful, constructive feedback to development teams
Excellent organizational and communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally
Analytical thinker with a systematic and detail-oriented approach to problem-solving
Familiarity with various commercial game engines (e.g., Unreal Engine, Unity)
Passion for video games and gameplay systems in narrative-driven RPGs
Preferred
Basic knowledge of automation tools or scripting for QA processes
Experience working in an Agile environment
