Developing and maintaining editorial and/or content calendars

Creating visually compelling graphics

Copywriting

Assisting in developing and implementing marketing campaigns to promote City events, programs, and initiatives

Assisting in drafting press releases

Fielding media inquiries

Taking pictures and videos

Covering on-call Public Information Officer (PIO) duties as needed

Maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information

Maintaining records, files, documents and archives

Serving on various employee committees, as required and assigned

Have an understanding of social media and website analytics

Familiar with AP writing style

Proficient in Google, Canva or Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office

Ability to meet tight deadlines, prioritize and pivot as needed

Ability to work under stress and handle stressful situations

Comfortable working in a team environment and independently

Basic photography/video skills

Extensive background checks required

Preferred

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in communication, public relations, marketing, social media management or a related field preferred and two years of related experience OR any equivalent combination of education and experience
