Responsibilities
Administer and maintain 140+ virtual machines running Ubuntu and Red Hat Enterprise Linux, ensuring high uptime and system reliability
Design, implement, and manage automation workflows using Ansible, owning the configuration management and deployment processes end to end
Build and maintain resilient systems architecture with redundancy, failover capabilities, and disaster recovery planning
Manage network infrastructure including firewalls and Dell switches, ensuring secure and performant connectivity across all systems
Develop automation scripts using Bash, Perl, or Python to streamline operations, reduce manual processes, and improve system efficiency
Manage virtualization platforms including VMware and Proxmox, optimizing resource allocation and performance
Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues proactively, and respond to critical incidents with high availability, including off-hours triage when needed
Provide corporate IT support, including provisioning Mac and Windows laptops and assisting employees with technical issues
Maintain comprehensive documentation of systems architecture, configurations, procedures, and runbooks
Ensure infrastructure compliance with healthcare regulations and security best practices
Qualification
Required
Extensive Linux system administration experience with strong expertise in both Ubuntu and Red Hat Enterprise Linux
Deep, hands-on knowledge of Ansible for automation, configuration management, and orchestration (you know it inside and out)
Proven scripting experience using Bash, Perl, or Python for infrastructure automation
Strong networking knowledge with experience managing firewalls and Dell switches
Experience with VMware and Proxmox virtualization platforms
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain highly available, resilient systems with minimal downtime
Corporate IT support experience, including provisioning and supporting Mac and Windows devices
Strong sense of ownership and accountability for infrastructure reliability and performance
Ability to respond to critical triage situations outside standard business hours when needed
Must be located in Austin, TX or within travel distance to our data center for occasional on-site work
Preferred
Experience working with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA and FHIR standards
Background in healthcare technology or analytics environments
