Platform/DevOps Engineer (Kubernetes-Linux-Azure Local)
Armada is an edge computing startup that provides computing infrastructure to remote areas. They are seeking a collaborative and detail-oriented Platform/DevOps Engineer to focus on the deployment, automation, and operation of hybrid Azure Local and Kubernetes-based deployments.

Responsibilities
Deploy and manage Azure Local environments on bare-metal servers across edge data centers
Configure and manage Kubernetes clusters across on-prem (Galleon) and cloud (Azure) environments
Administer and monitor the health, performance, and capacity of Kubernetes clusters and underlying infrastructure
Implement and maintain Kubernetes networking solutions (CNI plugins) and storage solutions (CSI drivers, PV/PVC)
Utilize Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, Ansible, and Helm to ensure repeatable and reliable deployments
Develop and maintain automation scripts (Python, Bash) for scalable infrastructure provisioning
Support cluster operations and deployment pipelines to streamline software delivery to the edge
Apply Kubernetes security best practices, including RBAC, Network Policies, and Secrets Management
Use Azure Arc to monitor distributed instances and ensure consistent security policies across the fleet
Troubleshoot issues related to bare-metal infrastructure, networking, and containerized services while contributing to on-call rotations
Qualification
Required
5 years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering roles
2+ years of hands-on experience administering production Kubernetes clusters
At least 1 year of experience with Azure services (Azure Arc, AKS) or equivalent cloud providers
Strong proficiency in Linux administration and system troubleshooting
Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, and Load Balancing
Practical experience with Terraform, Ansible, and scripting in Python or Bash
Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation
Preferred
Familiarity with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) on Azure Local/Azure Stack HCI
Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana
Knowledge of service mesh technologies like Istio or Linkerd
Kubernetes certifications such as CKA or CKAD
