2026-2027 Yearlong Red Line Extension Community Outreach Support Intern

Responsibilities
Become immersed in public outreach for the Red Line Extension project learning how to effectively communicate and engage with a broad spectrum of stakeholders including elected officials, community organizations, neighborhood groups, small businesses, faith-based organizations, and others
Develop the ability to synthesize key information, identify the most effective communication channels, and collaborate with individuals when addressing concerns and challenges
Gain an understanding of how the project area is divided into various wards and communities, including aldermen, communities within the wards, and key stakeholders in those wards and communities
Qualification
Required
Full-time enrollment status in a degree program at an accredited college or university
Strong Microsoft Office and computer skills
Good verbal and written communication skills
Good analytical and critical thinking skills
Good organizational skills with attention to detail
Good project management skills
Extensive in social media and online communications
The demands associated with the normal office environment
Must be able to comply with office policy to work on-site twice per week
Light physical activity, including walking outdoors and climbing stairs
Exposure to existing weather conditions while working at field locations
