Responsibilities

Write engaging marketing and communications content across digital platforms, including social media, website, and email
Capture, edit, and curate compelling photos and videos that highlight PAWS Chicago’s programs, animals, events, and impact
Create content that is audience-focused and tailored to the unique voice, format, and best practices of each platform
Ensure all content aligns with PAWS Chicago’s brand standards, tone, visual identity, and mission
Develop and publish content for PAWS Chicago’s social media channels with the goal of increasing awareness, engagement, and community participation
Assist in managing and executing a monthly content calendar supporting key initiatives such as adoptions, fostering, volunteering, events, fundraising, and advocacy
Monitor comments, messages, and trends across social platforms; respond appropriately or flag issues to ensure positive community engagement
Build and nurture relationships with online followers, supporters, influencers, and partners to expand PAWS Chicago’s digital reach
Track and analyze social media and digital performance using platform insights and analytics tools
Create monthly reports on key metrics (engagement, reach, growth, conversions, etc.) and contribute to refining content strategies based on results
Test and optimize social media donation and awareness campaigns following industry best practices
Film, edit, and produce short- and long-form video content for social media, website, campaigns, and internal use (training, presentations, etc.)
Support creative ideation for videos, storytelling concepts, and campaign visuals
Work cross-functionally with Communications, Development, Programs, and Operations teams to capture and share timely, accurate stories
Identify opportunities for partnerships with influencers, ambassadors, or community members who can help advance PAWS Chicago’s mission

Required

Creative and motivated self-starter
Passionate about animal welfare
Eager to grow skills in digital storytelling, social media, and nonprofit communications
Ability to write engaging marketing and communications content across digital platforms, including social media, website, and email
