Responsibilities

Define and drive the company-wide logging strategy and roadmap for AI systems—define what must be logged to reconstruct attacks and build reliable detections; understand the architecture and pipelines for existing logging, data storage, and observability systems; and determine what additional infrastructure should be built. Establish policy and engineering standards in conjunction with privacy, compliance, and other key partners
Drive product strategy and roadmap for novel detection capabilities, such as developing infrastructure that supports sophisticated anomaly detection, identifies attack patterns at scale, and allows for searches of specific attack signatures. Continuously update detection signals as attackers evolve new techniques
Segment and serve diverse stakeholder needs for threat intelligence; partner with data science to operationalize pipelines that aggregate and correlate multi-source signals; deliver actionable insights, trend analyses, and automated reporting integrated with detection and response workflows
Partner with the AI red team and security research to turn new attack techniques into prioritized product capabilities for mitigation and detection
Conduct user discovery to deeply understand end-to-end workflows, pain points, and priorities. Translate customer needs into clear use cases and Product Requirements Documents (PRDs). Work closely with engineering to assess technical tradeoffs and feasibility
Drive adoption at scale via onboarding playbooks, office hours, reference architectures, and OKRs (coverage, time-to-onboard)
Define and track success metrics and drive product changes and improvements based on results
Stay at the forefront of the AI threat landscape by following research, model evolution, real-world AI cyberattacks, and changes to standards (NIST, OWASP, MITRE)
Opportunistically seek partnerships with other teams across the company who are pursuing related goals
Mentor and coach PMs to elevate product craft and influence execution quality
Advocate for policies and procedures (or changes thereof) that ensure that customers can have justified confidence in Microsoft’s AI services
