Administrative Specialist II-BU
The Seattle Police Department (SPD) is seeking a dynamic, detail-orientated Administrative Specialist II to provide high-level administrative support to the Forensic Support Services Section management. The role involves providing lead administrative assistance, preparing reports, managing budgets, and maintaining equipment inventory records to support the department's mission of public safety.

Responsibilities
Provide high level administrative support to the Captain, Lieutenant and two Managers for the Forensic Support Services Section. This includes reviewing, evaluating, and responding to all correspondence for the Captain and Lieutenant on a daily basis; scheduling and preparing for management meetings, taking and distributing meeting minutes, and set-up
Prepare reports to support the Departments needs and requirements, which includes but not limited to overtime/payroll reporting, training compliance, ongoing certification status, and maintaining equipment inventory records
Assist Section Management with preparing Budget
Track, maintain, distribute records related to the Board memberships on International Association of Identification and the AFIS Regional Advisory Board ensuring compliance for Staff
Inventory, track and maintain Section equipment and training which includes CSI and other crime scene processing equipment, video and photographic equipment and other forensic supplies. Track the certification status of Section employees and project re-cert costs for budget and planning purposes
Research and order supplies needed to support the department monitoring and ensuring within Budget
Produce, maintain, track weapon inventory which includes court ordered forfeitures of weapons held in Evidence and the corresponding records within Evidence of the item’s status, as well as records related to the court ordered surrender of weapons related to a protection order
Maintain detailed productivity stats for seven workgroups – the seven work groups include CSI, Latent Prints, IDDS, Ten Prints, Photo Lab, Evidence, and the Video Unit
Assist with Public Disclosure requests ensuring compliance, and monitoring the high volume of requests for the Video Unit and the Photo Lab
Other administrative duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Two years of clerical support experience (or a combination of education, training and/or experience which provides evidence of the ability to perform the work)
Pass an SPD Background Investigation
Preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
Demonstrated ability to independently create, maintain and produce reports
Excellent organizational and communications skills
Demonstrated ability to successfully participate in a customer service environment, and work independently and as part of a team
