Responsibilities
Draft pleadings, motions, and notices for State and Federal court filings
Assist in preparing deposition notices and materials
Provide trial support using tools like Trial Director
Manage pre-trial preparation across multiple matters
Coordinate and manage document productions and e-discovery using tools such as Nuix
Organize and maintain case files, ensuring easy access and indexing
Track discovery and deadlines to ensure timely filings and responses
Communicate with clients, witnesses, and opposing counsel to schedule interviews and depositions
Manage e-filing and ensure compliance with California court rules and procedures
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 8 years of defense-side commercial litigation experience in a law firm
In-depth knowledge of California State and Federal court rules and procedures
Experience supporting trials and using trial preparation software (e.g., Trial Director)
Proven ability to manage the litigation process from start to finish
Preferred
Paralegal certificate and 2- or 4-year degree (or equivalent experience)
Proficient in Westlaw, iManage, and Nuix (formerly Ringtail)
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
Excellent communication and writing skills
High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential information
