The Power Plant Engineering Intern will assist engineers with monitoring plant performance, supporting maintenance activities, and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations while gaining hands-on experience in the utility industry.

Responsibilities

Assisting engineers with monitoring plant performance, collecting and analyzing data, and preparing operational reports
Supporting maintenance activities, including preventative and corrective maintenance planning
Reviewing, updating, and maintaining technical drawings, schematics, and manuals
Learning and participating in start-up, shutdown, and load control procedures, while following plant safety protocols and PPE requirements
Helping ensure compliance with environmental regulations and permits, assisting with project coordination, and shadowing senior engineers and technicians

Required

Currently enrolled at an accredited college or university
Academic status of Junior or above
Program of study: Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above at the time of application
Authorized to work in the United States
Basic understanding of motors, pumps, and measurements (temperature, pressure)
Proficient in Microsoft suite (Excel, Powerpoint)
Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail
Self-motivated and proactive; able to work independently
Ability to prioritize and resolve issues under deadlines
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Solid analytical thinking and problem-solving ability
Proven ability to learn new skills quickly

Preferred

Previous internship experience preferred
Proficient in AutoCAD preferred
Familiar with control systems and data historians
