Responsibilities

Member of the site steering team
Responsible for maintaining ISO, OSHA, and GMP standards
Works with site schedulers and cell leaders to plans production schedules, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products. Develops plans for efficient use of materials, machines, and associates
Ensures products are in accordance with customer specified requirements, identifies areas in the process for improvements, leads or directs process improvement teams
Reports on the effectiveness and performance of the production activities to the Conversion Manager and Site Steering Team
Informs Site Manager of any changes in production
Leads Maintenance Manager and department
Responsible for limiting costs when ordering and installing parts on the machines
Meets with supervisors to discuss improvements and work with teams to complete root cause analysis on issues identified in the process
Ensures that the Site Quality Policy, Operational Procedures and High Standards of Workmanship are maintained at all times
Ensures that heldware inventory is managed to ensure that plant targets are achieved
Ensures training of new team members
Resolves machinery and quality problems in the conversion department
Responsible for maintaining a high level of motivation
Housekeeping and safety
Initiate action for food safety issues
Individuals may need to sit or stand as needed. Requires walking primarily on a level surface for varying periods throughout the day in the Production area. Reaching above shoulder heights; and below the waist lifting as required to file documents or store materials during the workday. Proper lifting techniques required. May include lifting up to 25 lbs. for files, computer printouts on occasion. Could involve long periods of Computer work. 7 day a week operation; may require working more than 40 hours
The performance of this position includes exposure to the manufacturing areas where certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as Safety Glasses with Side Shields and Hearing Protection. Primary environment: ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment. Required to be able to read documents and computer screens

Required

A (B.A. or B.S.) in Industrial Technology or related field, with emphasis on plastics and / or related experience

Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
Must be able to build a strong working relationship with employees on shop floor
