Responsibilities

Support a project team in conducting experiments, which will involve data collection and analysis, as well as the assembly of device prototypes and equipment
Support additional facets of product development such as concept generation, circuit design, schematic capture, simulation/modeling
Operate lab equipment, hand tools, and soldering equipment as needed for custom hardware development
Procure components and fabricate electrical or electro-mechanical assemblies using appropriate industry standards, technical drawings, schematics, and sketches
Provide input on design improvements for prototype hardware
Assist in preparation of engineering drawings and test reports

Required

Must be currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Electrical Engineering
Must have at least two years of undergraduate coursework completed by the start of the internship
Completed coursework emphasizing analog or digital circuit design
Experienced with using lab equipment for electronics testing (oscilloscope, multimeter, etc.), hand tools, and soldering equipment
Proficient with Microsoft Office software
Self-motivated and a quick learner
Excellent written and verbal skills
Proven ability to successfully work independently or as part of a larger team
Must be US Person by definition of US export laws

Preferred

Experience with analog or digital hardware design
Experience with embedded or application software development
Experience with rapid prototyping using off the shelf development boards (Arduino, Raspberry Pi, etc.) for digital and analog systems, circuit board prototyping technologies
Experience in designing product components and subsystems, familiarity with manufacturing processes and related design requirements and constraints
Experience with circuit simulation/modeling tools
