Laboratory Technician
City of Hope is one of the largest and most advanced cancer research and treatment organizations in the U.S., dedicated to making hope a reality for all touched by cancer and diabetes. The Laboratory Technician will perform a variety of routine and complex laboratory tests on body fluids and substances, collaborating with healthcare professionals to provide data for accurate diagnosis and treatment of diseases.

Responsibilities
Perform a variety of routine and complex laboratory tests on body fluids and substances, requiring independent judgment, with speed and accuracy
Provide data for the most accurate diagnosis or individual treatment of diseases for optimum patient outcomes
Qualification
Required
Requires Degree in Medical Technology or equivalent. (BS Degree in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science; Associate Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology with MT certification.)
Certification required (ASCP, AMT or AAB) or eligible to take exam. Must successfully complete certification (ASCP, AMT or AAB) within 18 months of completed graduation from an accredited college or university
Computer skills and knowledge of printers, fax machines, photocopier and phone system operation
Working and theoretical knowledge of laboratory instrumentation & procedures
Ability to make independent judgment, with speed and accuracy
Preferred
Prefer a minimum of 2 years hospital or clinic experience
