Millersville University is seeking temporary, part-time instructors for the Department of English and World Languages to teach major courses and General Education courses. The role includes teaching writing courses and potentially literature and film studies, with opportunities for summer teaching as needed.

Responsibilities

Teach major courses and courses within the General Education program
Fill in for faculty on sabbaticals or leaves
Engage in scholarship and service commensurate with the assignment
Teach writing courses such as Introduction to College Writing, Advanced Composition, Business Writing, Technical Writing, Science Writing, and Web Writing & Content Development
Teach courses in literature, film studies, and English Education
Conduct teaching in both traditional and online learning environments

Required

Master's Degree in English, Rhetoric/Composition, or related discipline
Prior experience teaching course content or related content

Evidence of a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
Successful interview and Teaching Demonstration
Successful description of teaching philosophy for class teaching assignments
Successful completion of three background checks

Preferred

PhD or ABD in English, Rhetoric/Composition, or related discipline
Evidence of teaching in online environments
Prior college-level teaching experience
