Water Distribution O&M Technician

Responsibilities

Participate in the operations, maintenance and repairs of the water distribution system
Repair water pipes, valves, hydrants and other appurtenances
Operate a variety of heavy equipment such as excavators, track loaders, vac-trucks and backhoes
Weld and fabricate parts and tools, repair water mains, assist with responding to and resolving customer complaints, repair streets, driveways and yards following installation operations
Assist in locating, and inspecting new lines, and other related duties

Required

Positive attitude and work ethic
High School graduate or equivalent
A mechanical/technical/vocational school background or experience is a plus
A valid Missouri motor vehicle operator's license
The ability to perform manual labor
Must be able to lift or move up to 40 pounds on a regular basis
Minimum of 1-year relevant experience or combination of education and experience may be considered
Knowledge of the repair, maintenance, and installation of distribution systems
Knowledge of the operation and preventative maintenance of a variety of equipment
Skilled in the use of a variety of hand and power tools
Skilled in oral and written communication
DS I minimum or the ability to obtain within the first 6 months
Participate in an on-call rotation
Successful candidates will be required to complete a DOT background check, DOT pre-placement physical and DOT drug screen before employment

Preferred

Class A CDL preferred / Class B with Air Brakes or the ability to obtain within the first 6 months
