Responsibilities
Design and lead comprehensive reviews of risk governance and reporting across the FRRO domain
Conduct independent analysis of regulatory interpretations, model outputs, and capital/treasury assumptions
Represent the Second Line of Defense in stakeholder meetings
Propose and implement enhancements to Second Line review plans, issue escalation protocols, and review standards
Contribute to team training and development initiatives
Adhere to applicable compliance/operational risk controls in accordance with Company or regulatory standards and policies
Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable
Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand
Complete other related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in quantitative or analytical field such as Finance, Accounting, or Economics and a minimum of five years of relevant professional experience OR an equivalent combination of education and at least nine years of relevant professional experience
Advanced knowledge of financial principles and regulatory and compliance issues related to the banking industry
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Advanced analytical abilities
Preferred
Prior banking industry experience in either a First Line Regulatory Reporting role or a Second Line of Defense role overseeing the Regulatory Reporting function preferred
Demonstrated financial analysis experience and/or experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) or Credit Analysis function(s) preferred
Master's degree, CPA, CFA preferred
