Responsibilities
Manage full-cycle accounting including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, and account reconciliations
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements and reports
Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable oversight and processing
Process and track change orders, subcontractor agreements, and vendor contracts
Document procedures and create training materials for accounting team
Maintain accurate customer, vendor, subcontractor, and hauler records
Assist with costing but maintaining cost codes and ensuring bills and labor are recorded correctly
Monitor receivables and assist with lien documentation when required
Maintain customer and vendor relationships
Provide feedback on current processes and help develop more streamlined and efficient processes where needed
Maintain and file customer and vendor credit applications
Verify project insurance compliance
Collect data and collaborate with the accounting team to streamline reporting
Assist with WIP reporting and percentage of completion
Assist with other accounting functions as needed
Qualification
Required
3-5+ years of accounting experience required
Experience with job costing systems essential
Strong understanding of GAAP
Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills
Experience with ERP Systems
Preferred
Construction or project-based industry experience strongly preferred
Intercompany accounting experience preferred
