Budget Analyst II
Regional Transportation District (RTD) is committed to making lives better through connections. The Budget Analyst II position is responsible for analyzing expenditures, preparing budget amendments, and assisting in the analysis of budget variances.

Responsibilities
Reviews and analyzes expenditures and documents changes to budgets, identifies potential funding problems, makes recommendations for possible solutions, and provides assistance to other staff regarding funding availability, budget codes, and budget procedures
Prepares budget amendments and provides supporting documentation as needed for approval
Assists in the analysis and explanation of quarterly budget variances
Analyzes reports to determine proper commitments, obligations, and funding availability
Analyzes invoices for accuracy and compliance with contract/PO provisions, verifies proper retainage, and recommends close out of projects when appropriate
All job-related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or finance is required
Three years of experience in budgeting, accounting, and financial analysis
Proficiency in basic accounting principles
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Familiar with working in a large accounting system such as Oracle or SAP
Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing
Ability to use sound judgement
Ability to manage time and workload effectively which includes planning, organizing, and prioritizing with attention to details
Preferred
Master's degree in business, accounting, or finance field is a plus
Experience in government, especially transit, is preferred but not required
