Responsibilities
Drive new business development across targeted federal agencies, including DHS, DOE/NNSA, DOD components, and other civilian agencies
Build and maintain trusted relationships with Contracting Officers, Program Managers, CIO organizations, and mission owners
Identify, qualify, and shape opportunities prior to RFI and RFP release
Maintain a consistent on-site presence through agency visits, industry days, conferences, and briefings
Develop and manage strategic relationships with prime contractors, integrators, and OEM partners
Lead and support teaming strategies and partner agreements
Own the opportunity lifecycle from early identification through contract award
Collaborate with internal proposal teams and subject matter experts during capture and proposal phases
Provide accurate pipeline reporting and forecasting
Support post-award customer engagement and identify expansion opportunities
Qualification
Required
10+ years of federal business development experience
Proven success developing and winning federal contracts
Established network within one or more federal agencies
Strong understanding of federal acquisition processes, capture management, and proposal development
Experience working with prime contractors and teaming partners
Ability and willingness to travel extensively (40–60%+)
Preferred
Experience supporting or selling into DHS, DOE/NNSA, or DOD agencies
Familiarity with small business and mid-tier federal contracting environments
Understanding of federal security and compliance requirements
Experience selling IT services, cybersecurity, engineering, or professional services
