Automation Controls Engineer
Post Consumer Brands is seeking an Automation Controls Engineer to join their Battle Creek Plant Engineering team. The successful candidate will provide technical guidance for capital projects and troubleshooting support while ensuring safety and compliance in electrical controls standards.

Responsibilities
Troubleshoot process issues to minimize lost production time
Maintain network, virtual machines, Historian, HMI & PLC software applications
Maintain and ensure compliance to control system standards
Manage change control process
Maintain programs for upgrading control systems to current plant standards
Communicate and work with team members from IT, Maintenance, Operations, Quality, and Continuous Improvement to achieve strategic initiatives
Support personnel safety programs managed by the Plant Electrical Engineer related to electrical equipment - Arc Flash protection, PPE, grounding, safety circuits, hazardous locations, and LOTO
Ensure the maintenance of electrical schematics and documentation
Provide training and technical leadership for electrical skilled trades
Develop scope, cost, and schedule for new control system installations and infrastructure improvement projects
Provide guidance to project teams as a subject matter expert in control systems
Assist with the development of capital and expense budgets
Write and submit Capital Appropriations Requests
Identify and implement continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives
Stay abreast of and evaluate new and emerging technologies
Supervise plant personnel as necessary to complete tasks
Other projects and special assignments as required
Qualification
Required
Strong knowledge of PLC and HMI programming
Working knowledge of virtualization, networking, power distribution, and electrical infrastructure
Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering
Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Chemical Engineering, etc. will be considered with appropriate work experience
Significant experience with Allen-Bradley PLC platforms including PLC 5 & ControlLogix
Significant experience with Rockwell FactoryTalk View (SE server-based systems preferred, although appropriate ME experience will be considered)
5 or more years of experience in manufacturing including exposure to maintenance and engineering functions
Strong skill set in reading and interpreting electrical and control schematics, PIDs, and other technical documentation
Strong skill set in troubleshooting ladder logic, instrumentation, communication, and process control issues
Strong skill set in communicating technical issues to non-technical team members
Must be self-driven and highly effective working both independently and as part of a team
Strong written, verbal, and analytical skills
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
Organized and able to multi-task
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
Occasional travel is required
Rotational on call plant support is required
Preferred
Experience with network segmentation and cyber-security concepts is a plus
Experience with VMWare virtualization environment is a plus
