This role involves defining data architecture and modeling standards while guiding the organization through the migration from Netezza to Snowflake.

Responsibilities
Define and guide Snowflake architecture best practices across the organization
Act as a trusted advisor between IT, Data, Analytics, and Business stakeholders
Participate in end-to-end solution design, from data ingestion to published business datasets
Design and implement Medallion Architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold) data models
Create business use cases and translate them into data models and dashboards
Support and guide the creation of business-facing dashboards and analytics
Provide hands-on guidance and quick POCs to validate architectural approaches
Ensure proper implementation of Snowflake security concepts (roles, access control, data sharing, etc.)
Collaborate closely with SI partners, architects, and internal engineering teams
Drive architectural conversations, influence decisions, and align teams on best practices
Qualification
Required
Senior-level Solution Architect experience (data-focused), with potential to grow into Principal level
Strong expertise in Snowflake architecture and design
Deep understanding of Medallion Architecture and data modeling patterns
Experience modeling complex business domains (e.g., Customer Loyalty, HR, Finance, etc.)
Strong SQL and data modeling experience
Hands-on experience with dbt for transformations
Experience supporting BI tools such as Power BI and/or MicroStrategy
Python development experience for quick POCs and architectural validation
Ability to read, understand, and guide code (not just high-level design)
Strong understanding of data security, governance, and access patterns in Snowflake
Excellent communication skills — able to drive conversations, influence stakeholders, and defend architectural decisions
Preferred
Experience in Retail data environments
Exposure to Alation or similar data governance tools
Experience working with StreamSets or other ingestion frameworks
