Responsibilities

Identifying design tradeoffs and risks to choose viable paths forward
Applying good experiment design and the scientific method to reduce design risk early
Running tolerance studies to ensure designs are feasible over manufacturing tolerances
Driving processes to meet Apple’s high cosmetic standards
Experience with high volume mass production or consumer electronics are a plus

Qualification

Mechanical engineering fundamentals3D CAD experienceHigh volume production experienceConsumer electronics experienceCommunication skills

Required

Solid understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals including properties of materials, solid mechanics, beam statics, Newtonian physics, and thermodynamics
3D CAD experience is required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to craft clear engineering documentation and effectively collaborate with diverse team members and external vendors to achieve project goals
Minimum requirement of a bachelors degree

Preferred

High volume, consumer electronics or sensing experience is a plus
Hands-on experience designing for a production environment is a plus
BS in Mechanical Engineering
