AI Program Support Analyst

The Texas Department of Transportation is seeking an AI Program Support Analyst to support its Artificial Intelligence Program. The role involves overseeing technical support, analyzing user requirements, and ensuring compliance with AI governance and risk processes.

Government Administration

Responsibilities

Develops and delivers training and guidance on AI policies, risk, and governance processes
Coordinate the AI Risk Review process, ensuring compliance with responsible AI frameworks, data privacy, cybersecurity, and ethical standards
Researches and evaluates AI software and solutions
Provide technical and analytical support in evaluating solution architecture, data flows, vendor risks, and system impacts related to AI and technology solutions
Updates, maintains, and publishes program documents, including policies, policy manuals, standards, procedures, and templates related to AI governance and risk assessment processes
Researches, plans, coordinates and develops programs, projects, activities or procedures to increase productivity, efficiency and streamline operations
Reviews industry developments and makes recommendations for possible agency application
Evaluates statistical data, interprets results and prepares reports on effectiveness of program activities
Oversees the coordination of AI projects
May serve as a lead worker
Performs other job responsibilities as assigned

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Computer/Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or related discipline
5 years of experience in systems analysis, application systems support, or related work experience (Experience can be satisfied by full time or prorated part time equivalent)
Valid driver's license. This position requires driving a state vehicle

Preferred

5 years of experience in systems analysis, IT governance, risk management, or related technical/compliance fields
Knowledge and understanding of basic artificial intelligence concepts
Knowledge and understanding of NIST AI framework
Understanding of and prior experience in performing risk assessments
Experience working with AI applications
Knowledge of basic AI concepts and technologies
Experience with change management and training development
Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder-engagement skills
Ability to interpret technical architecture and vendor documentation
Experience with audit processes, risk registers, policy writing, or workflow management tools
Experience with policy development
Knowledge of IT governance frameworks
Experience with IT operations
