Facilities Manager

Information Technology & Services

Responsibilities

Manage the maintenance team, including electricians and fabrication employees
Oversee and supervise external workforce, consultants, and specialists
Develop preventive maintenance programs for all facility equipment
Ensure production machines, supporting equipment, and facility systems receive effective preventative maintenance for safe and efficient operations
Evaluate and address training needs within the maintenance department
Conduct follow‑up verification inspections to ensure full completion of scheduled preventative maintenance tasks and procedures
Improve maintenance plans, methods, procedures, and instructions to enhance machine and facility availability and safety while minimizing costs
Recommend methods to improve labor efficiency and reduce material waste
Collaborate with other plants domestically and internationally to transfer knowledge and technical solutions
Track, monitor, and report equipment status, including priorities and response actions
Evaluate maintenance activities, including downtime, root cause analysis, repair status, and corrective actions
Manage spare parts inventory, ensuring reorder points, accuracy, and adherence to budget requirements
Initiate, define, and track purchase orders from initial need through project completion
Develop and implement strategies to standardize machine components and tooling
Maintain manuals and documentation for all machinery
Work with Finance to ensure optimal use of resources and provide required tracking information
Develop departmental goals and objectives; conduct performance and disciplinary counseling as needed
Lead maintenance department participation in all 5S activities
Lead all capital expenditure projects from concept to full implementation, including design, quoting, and presentations, ensuring maximum ROI and adherence to budgets
Ensure adherence to safety standards at all times
Perform other duties as assigned

Required

Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, IDEM, and other applicable regulations
Strong leadership and problem‑solving skills; ability to multitask and resolve issues effectively
Working understanding of tooling, fabrication, and design
Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
Working knowledge of cold heading processes, finish line plating, heat treatment furnaces, transportation, ventilation, and HVAC equipment
Ability to use PC databases, schematics, preventative maintenance systems, and CAD software
Excellent communication skills

Preferred

8+ years of successful maintenance supervision or management preferred
Cold heading manufacturing background preferred
