Responsibilities
Maintain proper care, calibration status, and readiness of torque tools and fastening equipment
Perform in-process and final inspections of fastened joints to verify quality and compliance, including residual torque checks and periodic tool inspections
Collaborate with manufacturing and vehicle engineering teams to support joint testing, validation, and installation trials
Proactively identify and address fastening issues such as cross-threading, under- or over-torque, galling, and joint loosening
Accurately document fastening data, inspection results, and nonconformances in manufacturing and quality systems
Support corrective and preventive actions related to fastener or joint failures
Partner with production, quality, and engineering teams to continuously improve fastening processes and standards
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or GED
Minimum 3 years of experience in automotive manufacturing, assembly, or mechanical fastening
Knowledge of bolted joints and fastener basics
Ability to read and follow work instructions, torque specifications, and basic engineering drawings
Experience using manual and powered torque tools
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety
Preferred
Associate's Degree or technical certification in a related field
Experience with Atlas Copko torque tools and systems
Familiarity with quality management systems (QMS) and non-conformance reporting
Experience in the electric vehicle or autonomous vehicle industry
Proficiency with common computer applications (e.g., Google Workspace) for documentation and reporting
