Responsibilities
Supports Production Operations
Troubleshoot robotic programs and modify/adjust as needed
Create robotic programs from scratch as needed
Troubleshoot and repair various types of electrical controls, drives, communications, wiring, robot paths etc
Ability to comprehend PLC logic and its relationship to the robot’s programming
Ability to comprehend field devices such as vision systems, fieldbus systems, safety components, and their relationships to the PLC and robots
Assist technical services in machine repair, change over, set up and operation as required
Effectively train, coach and mentor other Technicians to improve their skills
Perform all preventative maintenance requirements as scheduled
Have mechanical aptitude that compliments electrical capabilities
Ability to schedule time, materials and equipment required to perform tasks, and to properly use and complete required documentation
Assist in keeping a spare parts inventory
Have a professional customer service attitude and ability to communicate with all levels of associates
Additional responsibilities may be added when necessary
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or GED
5 years experience in automotive environment preferred
Ability to comprehend PLC logic and its relationship to the robot's programming
Ability to comprehend field devices such as vision systems, fieldbus systems, safety components, and their relationships to the PLC and robots
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportion to practical situations
Ability to solve practical problems, and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagram, schedule form
Ability to work without close supervision
Mechanical aptitude that complements electrical capabilities
Ability to schedule time, materials and equipment required to perform tasks, and to properly use and complete required documentation
Professional customer service attitude and ability to communicate with all levels of associates
Flexibility to work various shift hours and/or extended hours if needed
Availability during off hours if needed and assist in emergency situations
Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds
Ability to stand, walk, use hands to feel or handle objects, tools or controls; reach and lift with hands and arms; talk, see and hear
Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
Ability to rotate torso and view behind to operate required equipment
Preferred
Working knowledge of ABB Robots (S4C & IRC5 Controllers)
Working knowledge of Motoman Robots (NX100, DX100, & DX200 Controllers)
Minimal knowledge of Fanuc and Kuka
Working knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC's and Studio 5000 Programming Software
Working knowledge of Allen Bradley Power Flex, Indramat, Ormec, Quantum III drives
Working knowledge of communication protocols such as EtherNet/IP, Profibus, DeviceNet
Working knowledge of MIG, RESISTANCE, HFI welding
