Responsibilities

Assist in developing and curating the company’s battery and power management patent portfolio
Work with the business to build and purposefully prosecute the associated worldwide patent portfolio and strategy
Identify patentable inventions; secure high-quality, strategic patent assets; provide expert technical and legal analysis; handle patent challenges; provide guidance in support of patent transactions and licensing matters
Assign and manage work performed by outside law firms; work with engineering and other business organizations to understand priorities and challenges
Provide cross-functional support for acquisition due diligence, IP licensing, enforcement, standards, and litigation activities

Qualification

USPTO Registered Patent AttorneyBS degree in EE/CS/CEPatent draftingProsecutionJuris DoctorAdvanced degree in EE/CS/CELegal analysisPatent transactions guidanceCross-functional support

Required

USPTO Registered Patent Attorney or Patent Agent
BS degree in EE/CS/CE
5+ years of relevant experience at a top law firm and/or in-house legal department
5+ years drafting and prosecuting patent assets related to battery composition, battery chemistry, and analog/digital circuitry

Preferred

Juris Doctor
Advanced degree in EE/CS/CE
