Senior Business Development Manager, Litigation
J. Katz & Partners, Inc is a leading U.S. law firm seeking a Senior Business Development Manager to support and drive the growth of its Litigation practice. The role involves developing and executing business development strategies, advising litigation partners, and managing business development professionals to enhance client development and revenue growth.
Responsibilities
Partner closely with Litigation practice leadership to develop and execute litigation-focused business development strategies
Serve as a strategic advisor to litigation partners on client targeting, pipeline development, and growth initiatives
Lead complex pitches, proposals, and high-profile RFP responses related to litigation matters
Coach litigation attorneys on business development planning, opportunity prioritization, and follow-through
Support lateral litigation partner integration through client-focused onboarding and cross-selling strategies
Analyze experience data, client financials, and CRM information to inform litigation BD strategy
Collaborate on litigation-related rankings submissions, thought leadership, and client-facing initiatives
Manage and mentor business development professionals supporting the Litigation practice
Work closely with senior BD leadership and internal stakeholders, including recruiting, pricing, IT, and professional development
Assist with budget planning and monitor the effectiveness and ROI of litigation business development efforts
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree required
9+ years of business development experience within a law firm or professional services environment
Demonstrated, hands-on experience supporting litigation practices, with litigation serving as a primary focus of recent roles
Experience partnering directly with senior litigation partners and practice leaders
Proven ability to lead complex initiatives, manage competing priorities, and drive projects to completion
Strong communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to build credibility with senior attorneys
Comfort working with CRM platforms, experience data, and litigation-related market intelligence
