They are seeking a full-time Teacher to assist in enhancing educational services for the offender population at the Allen Correctional Center, focusing on curriculum development and instructional guidance for the HI-SET program.

Responsibilities
Assists with enhancing student (offender) learning and achievement, providing consultation and professional development activities to faculty to enhance educational effectiveness
Work for (support): Education Principal
The incumbent of this position will be responsible for providing instructional guidance and curriculum development for all offenders enrolled in ALC's HI-SET program, monitoring all students' attendance and compiling data
The incumbent will also administer academic tests on a scheduled basis, determine if and when the student has successfully passed all pre-requisites for taking the final HI-SET exam, and then schedule the student for the next available HI-SET testing class
This position is also responsible for monitoring all students' work on a daily basis and recommending placement from one level to another
Qualification
Required
A current, valid Louisiana Teacher's Certificate in an academic content area with an Adult Education endorsement or take six semester hours per academic year approved by the Education Director to renew an expired or to acquire a Louisiana teaching certificate with an Adult Education endorsement

Any degree, certificate, special license, or DD-214 must be verified by official documentation prior to hire
Any qualifying experience that is based on college credit/college hours should have an accompanying transcript for verification
