By Light Professional IT Services is recruiting dedicated and talented IT Service and Program Management Office professionals. The Network Engineer will design and implement self-healing networks, maintain overall functionality, and provide technical support for telecommunications equipment.

Responsibilities

Designs and implements self-healing networks

Maintains overall functionality of networks

Troubleshoots routing, switching and multicast faults

Configures and troubleshoots RADIUS, SYSLOG, NTP, OSPF, Auto-RP

Monitors network load balancing, route cost patterns, overall system health, etc. and advises on need for potential upgrades or reconfigurations

Identifies the need to upgrade or enhance network component capabilities

Periodically reviews SIEM alerts as they relate to overall system status

Hardens networking infrastructure as appropriate, balancing customer Availability/Integrity/Confidentiality needs

Resolves IAVA/STIG findings as appropriate, providing proper documentation and/or justification to A&A personnel

Provides on-site technical and operational support in the installation and operation of any/all telecommunications equipment

Conducts site surveys to determine feasibility of equipment installations (e.g. telecommunications, electrical, temperature/humidity, cleanliness, space/weight, maintainability, logistical support)

Mentors other IT personnel as needed

Required

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

Must meet DoD 8570 IAT II requirements

Experience designing and implementing self-healing networks

Expert understanding of Cisco and/or Juniper technologies

Expert understanding of networking protocols

Experience in cross-platform networking environments

Expert level experience in the configuration & operation of enterprise Palo Alto firewalls
