The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with mechanical systems in high-density data centers and will coordinate with various teams and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities
Design, review, and oversee installation of mechanical systems for data center facilities, including:
HVAC, chilled water, and air-handling systems
Cooling strategies (air-cooled, liquid-cooled, and hybrid systems)
Plumbing, drainage, and fire protection systems
Support mechanical system layouts in coordination with architectural, structural, and electrical teams
Review construction drawings, specifications, and submittals for compliance with project requirements and codes
Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and commissioning agents during construction and startup
Perform site inspections to ensure quality, safety, and adherence to design intent
Support commissioning, functional testing, and turnover of mechanical systems
Participate in risk assessments, value engineering, and constructability reviews
Troubleshoot mechanical system issues during construction and early operation phases
Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements (ASHRAE, NFPA, local building codes)
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
5+ years of experience in building construction, with a strong focus on data centers or mission-critical facilities
Proven experience with HVAC and cooling systems for high-density server environments
Familiarity with redundancy concepts (N, N+1, 2N) and reliability requirements
Experience working on active or brownfield data center sites is a plus
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications
Strong coordination and communication skills with multidisciplinary teams
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Ability to work in fast-paced, schedule-driven construction environments
Attention to detail with a strong focus on quality and reliability
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Preferred
Professional Engineer (PE) license or progress toward licensure
Experience with commissioning processes and integrated systems testing
Knowledge of energy efficiency strategies and sustainability initiatives
Familiarity with BIM / Revit and mechanical modeling tools
Experience working with hyperscale or colocation data center projects
