Responsibilities
Provide technical drafting support to electrical engineering teams for substation projects
Prepare, revise, and maintain electrical substation drawings, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and site layouts
Utilize CAD and related digital design tools (e.g., AutoCAD; MicroStation preferred) to develop project deliverables
Assist with the evaluation and improvement of drafting methods and design processes to enhance efficiency and quality
Learn and apply applicable engineering standards, document control procedures, departmental guides, and company policies
Support compliance with the company Quality Program by ensuring accuracy and completeness of deliverables
Perform basic checks such as dimensional verification and minor material quantity estimates
Coordinate deliverables with other project disciplines to minimize conflicts and errors
Demonstrate attention to detail, personal accountability, and support continuous improvement initiatives
Proactively seek and share knowledge of emerging technologies, tools, and drafting processes
Develop a foundational understanding of internal client needs and gain exposure to external client priorities
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 1 year of related work experience
1–2 years of experience using Autodesk AutoCAD
Basic understanding of engineering drafting principles and practices
Familiarity with electrical substation drawings (schematics, wiring diagrams, site layouts preferred)
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work
Ability to learn and apply technical standards, procedures, and quality requirements
Effective communication and collaboration skills
Preferred
Experience with Bentley MicroStation
Exposure to BIM, 3D modeling, or other advanced design tools
Prior experience supporting electrical utility or substation projects
