HR Business Partner II (Hybrid) - Human Resources

Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis is looking for an HR Business Partner II who will provide HR support for various departments and senior business partners. The role involves advising on HR policies, coordinating HR programs, and managing employee relations to enhance organizational growth and employee engagement.

Responsibilities

Advises and consults with assigned leaders, managers, and supervisors on foundational HR topics, policies, and practices
Provides initial guidance on general HR matters such as progressive discipline, performance coaching, and employee development conversations
Partners with various leaders to align HR practices with organizational goals and university policies and mission
Serves as key driver of university culture by guiding and coaching leaders to enhance employee engagement
Partners with leaders to help shape the employee experience, ensuring it reflects WashU mission and values, and inspires teams to excel
Supports the smooth execution of key HR processes across assigned schools and departments, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and timely coordination with HR teams and stakeholders
Supports and/or manage the implementation of HR programs including workforce planning, performance management, and talent development initiatives
Collaborates with senior HRBPs and CoEs to implement larger strategic HR programs and projects. Provides education and training program to managers and employees
Serves as a liaison between supported schools/departments, the HR Solutions Center, and HR CoEs to ensure coordinated service delivery
Escalates complex employee relations issues to the senior HRBP or Employee Relations CoE as appropriate
Interfaces with Finance and Business Managers to align on headcount planning, staffing, and budget impacts
Partners with campus offices and HR stakeholders to guide leaders and employees to the appropriate resources or subject matter experts
Provides data-driven recommendations that inform strategic decision-making using analysis skills that support specific tailored decision-making for actions to improve workforce outcomes
Monitors HR dashboards and key metrics (e.g., headcount, turnover, engagement trends) to identify insights and share relevant data with assigned units
Responds to basic HR reporting requests and partner with HRIS or analytics teams on more complex data needs
Uses data analysis to support decision-making and recommend actions to improve workforce outcomes
Provides feedback to CoEs on HR policies, processes, and knowledge base content to improve accuracy and accessibility
Maintains awareness of employment laws and university policies to ensure compliance and effective policy interpretation
Supports change management efforts and serve as a change champion for HR and organizational initiatives
Assess downstream impacts of HR initiatives to supports effective implementation and alignment across the organization
Performs other duties as assigned
